Your teacher, Arthur Samuel Joseph, M.A., understands these challenges. He was born to a single-parent mother who was his hero, who did everything possible to put food on the table and provide a wonderful life. However, they lived in poverty. 

Because of his mother, Arthur discovered his connection to music when he was four and a half years old. Music became his Voice.

At 12, he knew that singing was going to be what he was going to do with music. One of God’s gifts to him was his first voice teacher, Mrs. Julia Kinsel, who helped him discover that he heard vocal sounds differently than anybody he'd ultimately ever met anywhere in the world. When he hears a Voice, he hears instantly who a human being is. It's an instantaneous imprint. 

The philosophical and creative freedom she provided him helped him create Vocal Awareness.

When he started teaching at 18, he was a personally impoverished young man with virtually no Self-esteem and no Self-confidence, but he did have the gift of Voice and what he called ‘a knowing’.

He was doing all right as a singer and teacher, but not enough to support his beautiful bride, whom he married at 23, and his infant son. So he had a regular job for about three years until one day he was fired. 

He took this as a sign. 

One evening he was sitting in the living room by the fireplace in their first home saying that his dear wife was only intellectually supportive of him doing Vocal Awareness full-time, not emotionally supportive. And of course, as he was saying this within him Self, he knew he was also lying. He was scapegoating the finest person he knew because he still had so little Self-esteem and so little confidence. 

At that moment, he could admit that, of course, his wife was there for him 1,000%. The discovery and the ‘come to Arthur moment’ that evening was that he was not there for him Self. 

So the next day he placed an ad in the Cal State Northridge newspaper, The Matador, because it was free, and offered one free introductory lesson. 

He got one student. They became like family. He taught her for over a decade, he helped her build her Voice, her life, her career, and his Journey began. 

So your teacher on your Journey to Self-fulfillment, to Self-Mastery, is one who has taken the Journey himself. Learned how to Claim His Power, learned how to be him Self, and for over six decades, his mission has never changed, it is ‘To Change The World Through Voice’. His goal will always be to help all those he works with to Achieve Their Own Enlightenment, to Achieve Their Own Empowerment. 

Because that is what he did for him Self.
