If you haven’t read Arthur’s feature in INC Magazine yet, now is your chance.
It’s called 3 Things You Can Do Right Now To Improve Your Voice Confidence and it’s written by modern day Renaissance Woman Jackelyn Ho.
The article discusses how you can be “your most authentic self in all parts of life.”
She talks about the very real experience of being “frustrated that I can’t seem to get my point across, and even more annoyed that I can’t get myself together. What is wrong with me?”
This can happen at any moment when we fall back into our old habits of speaking and communicating. This is unconscious communication.
Fortunately, there is a solution…
And the solution isn’t about perfection. As she says:
“Whether you’re looking to become more confident in your day-to-day interactions, nail your next presentation, or simply feel more in control in negotiations, you can start right now.”
She then went on to describe 3 core elements to communication: breathe, persona, and Visceral Language.
1. Begin with a slow, silent, and conscious loving breath.
2. Have a persona statement.
3. Place a period at the end of every sentence.
If you have ever studied Vocal Awareness, you will be familiar with these three key steps.
